Parent Participation

Parent involvement is a hallmark of the experience at Clarendon. Parent participation and volunteerism have been an integral part of Second Community’s culture since the inception of the program. This high level of commitment from parents is essential to the quality of our students’ education. Parents are encouraged to be involved in day-to-day classroom activities, chaperone field trips, and assist with numerous school events.

The Second Community Parents Association (SCPA) is our program’s PTA/PTO equivalent. All parents and guardians are considered part of the SCPA without having to pay any dues. We have school-wide meetings the third Thursday of each month at 6:30pm, which are a great way to meet other families, learn more about the school, and discuss what we as parents can do to help enrich our children’s experience at Clarendon.

Please feel free to reach out to the SCPA Co-Chairs with any questions: chairs@secondcommunity.org.
